June 6-9: Tupelo Elvis Festival
Three weeks of the year in Tupelo are dedicated to Elvis Presley: the week of his birth, the week of his death, and Elvis Festival weekend! The official 2013 Tupelo Elvis Festival begins this afternoon at 3 P.M. with the unveiling of the Mud Creek Swimming Hole marker on the Elvis Driving Tour at the Music Bend Nature Trail across from Veteran's Park. Tomorrow night the gates of Fairpark will open at 6 P.M. for several musical acts leading up to the Friday night headliner Cowboy Mouth at 10 P.M. The gates open again on Saturday at the same time, and the 10 P.M. headliner is Montgomery Gentry. Down the road from Fairpark on Friday and Saturday are fair rides and food for fun for everyone. The complete schedule for the weekend can be found here, and tickets can be purchased at the gate. We hope to see you showing your Elvis love this weekend!
