A New Year

It's here!  2013 is here!  Look forward to a year filled with excitement in Tupelo, Mississippi.  To kick off the year, CDF is hosting Mississippi cartoonist Marshall Ramsey for their monthly First Friday. And to us, the first of the year means a celebration for more than just a new year.  Elvis's birthday celebrations are right around the corner, and we'll be celebrating on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  On Monday at 1 P.M., there will be a Tupelo presentation at the Bijou Theatre on the Graceland Plaza in Memphis with Roy Turner, Sam Bell, Guy Harris, and the Tupelo Unity Choir; and tickets are free and available at the ticket pavilion.  On Tuesday, the party kicks off in Tupelo at 1:30 P.M. with birthday cake at the Elvis Presley Birthplace.  At 2 P.M., the premiere of the Tupelo Unity Choir video in the Elvis Presley Birthplace Theatre will precede a live performance by the choir at 2:15.  And later that evening at 5:30, there will be a lighting ceremony at Elvis's Homecoming Statue at Fairpark.  So start your year off right and join us here for the fun in Tupelo!
